Find Your Ideal Nail Starter Kit
Doing your own nails at home should be easy, affordable, and actually enjoyable. That's why we created Holy Grail Nail — to give you salon-quality results without the salon price tag, the booking hassle, or the damage that traditional manicures can cause.
If you're new to nail wraps, press-ons, or gel nails, a starter kit is the simplest way to get everything you need in one go. But with three different kit types to choose from, it helps to understand what each one offers and which suits your lifestyle best.
This guide walks you through our starter kits, what's included, how to use them, and how to keep your nails looking great for as long as possible.

What Makes a Good Nail Starter Kit?
Not all nail kits are created equal. When you're choosing one — whether from us or anywhere else — there are a few things worth paying attention to.
Quality of the products. The wraps themselves matter most. Ours are made with real nail polish (for Classic Wraps) and real gel polish (for Gel Wraps), not printed vinyl or cheap stickers. That's what gives them their rich colour, glossy finish, and durability.
Everything you need included. A good starter kit shouldn't leave you scrambling to buy extras. Each of our kits includes the wraps or press-ons plus the key accessories — whether that's a top coat, a UV lamp, or nail glue — so you can get started straight away.
Beginner-friendly design. If it's your first time, you don't want to be wrestling with complicated tools. Our wraps are designed to be applied in minutes, and each kit comes with everything a first-timer needs to get a professional-looking result.
Safe ingredients. This one gets overlooked, but it matters. All Holy Grail Nail products are HEMA-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. HEMA is one of the most common causes of allergic reactions in gel nail products, and it's not always clearly labelled. If you've ever had a bad reaction to salon gels, our HEMA-free formulas could be the answer.
Our Three Starter Kits: Which One Is Right for You?
We offer three starter kits, each built around a different product line. They all save you 25% compared to buying items individually, and each one includes a FREE Mani Makeup Bag in pink or black.
Classic Wrap Starter Kit

Best for: Beginners, anyone who wants the fastest and simplest application, and people who like to switch up their designs regularly.
What's included:
- 5 Classic Wrap sets of your choice (from over 500 designs)
- Magic Gloss Top Coat or Ultimate Duo Pack with lamp
- FREE Mani Makeup Bag (pink or black)
No lamp required. Classic Wraps are self-adhesive strips made from real nail polish. You peel, apply, file off the excess, and seal with a top coat. A full set takes around 15 minutes, and they last 7 to 14 days depending on your prep and daily activities. They work on all nail types — natural, gel, shellac, and acrylic.
This is our most popular kit and the one we recommend if you've never tried nail wraps before.
Gel Wrap Starter Kit

Best for: Anyone who wants maximum durability and a high-gloss gel finish that lasts two to three weeks.
What's included:
- 3 Gel Wrap sets of your choice
- UV LED Nail Lamp
- FREE Mani Makeup Bag (pink or black)
UV lamp required (included). Gel Wraps are semi-cured gel strips — 60% pre-cured, so they're flexible enough to mould to your nail but cure into a hard, glossy finish under the lamp. Each pack includes 20 wraps in various sizes plus a cuticle stick and mini emery board. Curing takes just 120 seconds per hand.
If you've had gel nails done at a salon, this is the closest at-home equivalent — without the filing, soaking, and potential nail damage.
We also offer Crystal Wraps, a thinner and stretchier gel option that cures in 60 seconds and works particularly well for wider nail beds.
Press-On Starter Kit
Best for: Anyone who wants instant length and glamour, or a completely different nail shape in seconds.
What's included:
- 3 sets of Attention Extensions press-ons of your choice
- Precision Nail Glue
- FREE Mani Makeup Bag (pink or black)
No lamp required. Our Attention Extensions press-ons are made from flexible MABS soft gel and hand-finished with real gel polish. Each set includes 32 nails (16 sizes per hand) for a precise fit, and they can be trimmed and filed to your preferred length without cracking. Use adhesive tabs for temporary wear (a few days, reusable) or nail glue for a stronger hold lasting up to two weeks.
How to Apply Your Starter Kit: Step by Step
Whichever kit you choose, proper application is the single biggest factor in how long your nails last. Here's the process.
Prep Your Nails
This is the step most people skip, and it's the most important one. Push your cuticles back gently with a cuticle stick. Wash your hands with soap and dry them thoroughly. If your nails are smooth or oily, give them a light buff to help the adhesive grip.
The goal is a clean, dry, oil-free surface. Any residue from hand cream or natural oils will weaken the bond and cause lifting.
Choose the Right Size
Pick a wrap or press-on that fits your nail width. If you're between two sizes, go slightly smaller — anything touching your cuticle or skin at the edges will start to lift within a day. A tiny gap between the wrap and your cuticle line is ideal.
Apply
For wraps, peel from the sheet (avoid touching the adhesive side), align the curved edge just above your cuticle, and press down firmly from the centre outward to push out air bubbles. Fold the excess over the tip of your nail and file downward at a 90-degree angle — always in one direction only.
For press-ons, apply a small amount of glue to your natural nail, press the extension on firmly, and hold for 10 to 15 seconds.
Cure or Seal
For Classic Wraps, apply a thin layer of top coat, making sure to cap the free edge of each nail. This seals everything and can extend wear from one week to two or even three.
For Gel Wraps, cure under your UV lamp — 120 seconds for standard gels, 60 seconds for Crystal Wraps. Optionally add a gel top coat for extra durability.
Press-ons don't need any curing or sealing.
Let Them Set
The best time to apply is before bed. This gives the adhesive several hours to fully bond without interference from water or hand-washing. Try to avoid submerging your hands in water for at least four hours after application.
How to Make Your Manicure Last Longer
A few simple habits make a real difference to wear time.
Wear gloves for washing up. Water — especially prolonged hot water — is the biggest enemy of nail wrap adhesive. Showers and regular hand-washing are fine, but use rubber gloves for dishes and cleaning.
Don't use your nails as tools. Opening cans, peeling stickers, and scratching surfaces all put stress on the edges. As we like to say — your nails are jewels, not tools.
Reapply top coat every few days. A fresh layer refreshes the seal and adds another barrier against chips and lifting, especially at the tips where wear shows first.
Apply cuticle oil daily. This keeps your nails and cuticles hydrated, which supports better adhesion and healthier nail growth.
Store unused wraps properly. Keep them in their original packaging, sealed away from sunlight. UV exposure can pre-cure gel wraps in the packet, and air exposure can dry out the adhesive on classic wraps.
How to Remove Your Nails Safely
Safe removal is just as important as application. Never peel or force wraps off — this pulls at the top layer of your natural nail and causes thinning over time.
Classic Wraps: Apply nail polish remover around the edges, let it soak in, then use a wooden cuticle stick to gently lift from the base. If there's resistance, add more remover and wait.
Gel Wraps: Soak nails in remover or apply cuticle oil around the edges and gently work a cuticle stick underneath. The wrap should lift away cleanly.
Press-Ons: Apply cuticle oil at the base and sides, then slowly rock the nail back and forth until the adhesive releases. If you used adhesive tabs, the press-ons can be kept and reused.
After removal, apply cuticle oil or nail serum to rehydrate.

Nail Wraps vs. Salon Manicures: A Quick Comparison
Time: A salon gel manicure takes 45 to 90 minutes including travel. Nail wraps take 15 to 30 minutes at home.
Cost: A UK salon gel manicure typically costs £30 to £60 per visit. A single set of wraps costs a fraction of that, and starter kits offer even better value with the 25% bundle discount.
Nail health: Salon gels require surface filing and often involve acetone soaking or drilling for removal. Wraps sit on top of the natural nail and are removed gently — many customers find their nails actually grow stronger underneath.
Convenience: Do your nails at 10pm on a Sunday, during a lunch break, or while watching TV. No booking, no commuting, no waiting for polish to dry.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do nail wraps last? Classic Wraps last 7 to 14 days. Gel Wraps last 2 to 3 weeks. Press-ons last a few days with adhesive tabs or up to 2 weeks with nail glue. Good prep and a top coat make the biggest difference.
Are nail wraps bad for your nails? No — they can actually be better for your nails than salon manicures. There's no filing of the nail surface, no drilling, and removal is gentle. Many customers find their natural nails grow longer and stronger underneath the wraps.
Do I need a UV lamp? Only for Gel Wraps and Crystal Wraps, which need to be cured under a UV/LED lamp. Classic Wraps and press-ons don't require one. The Gel Starter Kit includes a lamp.
Do nail wraps work on short nails? Absolutely. Most sets include multiple sizes, and wraps can be trimmed to fit. Short nails actually tend to get slightly longer wear because there's less tip exposure.
Can I apply wraps over gel or acrylic nails? Yes — Classic Wraps work on natural, gel, shellac, and acrylic nails.
What's the difference between Gel Wraps and Crystal Wraps? Both are semi-cured gel that cures under a UV lamp. Crystal Wraps are thinner and stretchier (great for wider nail beds) and cure in 60 seconds. Gel Wraps are slightly thicker, cure in 120 seconds, and tend to last a little longer.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin? All our products are HEMA-free, which removes one of the most common allergens in gel nail products. If you have a known gel allergy, we'd still recommend doing a patch test first — our gel wraps are pre-cured so no wet gel touches your skin, but everyone's sensitivity is different.
How often should I replace my tools? Files and buffers should be replaced every few months or when they show wear. Clean brushes regularly and replace them if they become frayed. UV lamps last much longer but should be checked periodically.
